Blepharoplasty (Eye Surgery)
Blepharoplasty surgery is basically an eyelid surgery procedure and is undertaken in order to remove excess skin and fat from the eyelid and under eye areas. Eye lift surgery is most commonly a cosmetic procedure but in some cases is also a functional surgery.
If you suffer from, or are concerned about, droopy eyelids, puff eyes or sagging under eye skin then an eye lift or eyelid surgery may be for you. The blepharoplasty surgery involves an incision either in the natural crease lines above the eyelashes or under the eyelashes. Both incisions will extend out 1cm or so into the crow’s feet area.
The upper eye lid surgery, after the initial incision, involves the separation of the skin from the subcutaneous layer of the eye. Excess fat is removed and sagging skin and muscle is trimmed. The under eye blepharoplasty surgery involves the lifting and gently tensioning of the skin, after the initial incision, and removing the excess skin. Both variations of eye lift surgery are closed with very find sutures along the eyes natural lines and creases.
If you’re concerned about the aesthetics or functionality of your eye lid area and would like to find out more about blepharoplasty costs then please call us to organise a consultation with one of our trained experts.
