Male Breast Reduction
Gynecomastia, or incidents of male breasts, is experienced by many men and can be a result of a number of factors including obesity, prescription medication, steroids or puberty. During excess weight gain the chest area will enlarge and male breasts will appear and in extreme cases they can become stretched and saggy. This can lead to a low self-esteem in suffers and can cause a heightened sense of self consciousness.
Male breast reduction surgery can help reverse this embarrassing condition and return the male breasts to more toned and defined pectorals. Our male breast surgery procedure, or as it’s technically called mammoplasty, involves the removal of excess fatty tissue from the breast area with the use of a cannula. A small number of incisions are made in the area and the cannula is inserted and moved back and forth to loosen and remove the excess fat in the male breasts.
After male breast surgery dressings and bandages are applied to the area to help minimise swelling in the area and to support the new chest contours. It is usually the case that after male breast reduction surgery patients will heal within ten to twelve days.
Male breast surgery is permanent but if the formation of the male breasts was due to certain prescription medications or drugs then it is important to remain free of these substances. It is also important to maintain a stable weight in order to avoid a reoccurrence of male breasts.
